Refund & Cancellation Overview

At Ourpointofview Luxury Escapes, every journey is curated with care and intention.

We understand that life can be unpredictable. If your plans change, our cancellation and refund policy is designed to honour the energy and commitment invested in creating your experience.

We’re here to guide you with empathy and clarity.

Deposits & Payments

Your non-refundable deposit secures your place and allows us to begin crafting your experience. The remaining balance is due by the date communicated in your booking confirmation—this ensures we can deliver the seamless, elevated escape you deserve.

If You Need to Cancel

For Group Journeys:
  • More than 90 days before departure:
    No monetary refunds, but you can apply your payment as a credit towards a future journey (valid for 12 months), or transfer your reservation to someone else (R500 admin fee applies, subject to approval).
  • 61–90 days before departure:
    A 25% cancellation fee applies. We’ll aim to recover and apply any remaining funds as credit, depending on our partners’ terms.
  • 31–60 days before departure:
    A 50% cancellation fee applies. We’ll assess what can be returned or credited.
  • 30 days or less before departure:
    Due to third-party commitments, no refunds or credits can be offered.
For Private Journeys:
  • More than 60 days before departure:
    Your deposit is non-refundable. Any additional payments may be refunded, less costs already incurred on your behalf.
  • 31–60 days before departure:
    A 50% cancellation fee applies. We’ll do our best to return any recoverable amounts.
  • 30 days or less before departure:
    Because of the highly personalised nature of private journeys, no refunds or credits can be issued at this stage.

Transferring Your Reservation

If you can no longer join us, you may transfer your booking:

  • Group Journeys: Up to 90 days before departure, pending approval and a
    R500 admin fee.
  • Private Journeys: Considered on a case-by-case basis, in line with our partners’ terms and planning already in place.

If We Need to Cancel or Reschedule

Should we face circumstances beyond our control (such as travel restrictions or partner disruptions), we’ll offer you:

  • A full credit towards a future journey, or
  • A refund, minus any non-recoverable costs already committed to our
    partners on your behalf.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation, delays, and medical emergencies. It’s an extra layer of peace of mind—so you can focus on the journey ahead.

Force Majeure

In the event of unexpected global or natural disruptions (like pandemics or natural disasters), we’ll do everything possible to recover costs on your behalf. However, full refunds cannot be guaranteed in these rare cases
